I purchased this Avon Plump Pout Lip Gloss via a catalogue from a representative. There are some pros and cons to buying beauty products via catalogues. The obvious pro is that items cost a lot less than beauty products sold in stores. The con is that the colour in the printed image may not be the same as the actual product and you risk buying something that doesn’t match your skin tone. I had this in mind when I purchased lipgloss from Avon recently.
The shade I chose was Honey Delight. I ordered me some, not releasing that it’s from the Plump Pout range, I thought it was normal lip gloss. These lips definitely do not need any plumping, Mother Nature had done enough. It’s a nice colour and it was on sale.
I took the colour because I felt I needed a change in my hue of lip gloss. I needed to tone it down from my usual choice of reds. Red glosses have always been my favourite. With the exception of red, I think clear gloss was the only other kind that I’ve bought before. I didn’t want something too dark, but something light and natural. But then there’s the dreaded WLS. That’s right, the White Lips Syndrome. You know when a lip gloss is too light for your skin tone and appears white, making you look like you’re hungry. So I took a gamble and it paid off. The colour looks amazing I love the honey tones in the gloss. It would have been a bummer if it gave me WLS.
The gloss is smooth and I felt the tingling action upon application. It’s too early to tell whether it actually plumped my lips, but as long as it doesn’t give me duck lips, I’m okay with it. The applicator, to my surprise, was an actual lip brush. For the past few years I’ve been using twist stick applicators and squeeze tubes, so I was expecting an old school wand tip, you know the sponge like tip. This provides a better application of the gloss.
The Avon Plump Pout Lip Gloss in Honey Delight is a really nice, natural colour which I think might replace clear as my go to gloss.
